This March we are honored to host Richard Sandoval as our Dicho y Hecho special guest, he is the founder of Hispanic Lifestyle. Since 1995 Hispanic Lifestyle has been connecting people and communities to celebrate the achievements of community leaders, organizations, business owners and is committed to promoting positive images of our community. For more information about Hispanic Lifestyle events and news please visit the Hispanic Lifestyle website. Below are a few questions we asked Richard about his career and interests.
What advice would you share with someone who is starting a career in digital media and event production?
Develop your style, ask a lot of questions, build a professional network and find a mentor. Unless you break the norm, instant success is unlikely. Relax you are building a body of work. Finally, ask yourself is this a job or a career?
What inspired you to start Hispanic Lifestyle?
The portrayal of Latino/as in the Media. I felt that my skill set could develop into sharing success stories with the community.
Where do you hope Hispanic Lifestyle will be in the next 5 years?
Media is changing and the pandemic has really changed the way we consume information. How we produced content and share it with our audience will continue to change, but I am committed to highlighting the achievements of our community. Our mission since 1995 is to promote positive images of our community.
Who inspires you and why?
Other business owners and professionals who Survive and Thrive in this ever-changing economy.
What is your favorite movie or book and why?
Too many, but let’s start with Citizen Kane, The Godfather, the Paper, For Love or Money. Tortilla Soup is my favorite Latino/a cast movie.
