We like to recognize our featured guest at our monthly Dicho y Hecho Happy Hour Mixer. To get to know our guest we ask them a few questions. Below are a few things we learned about Claudia Uballez:
What is the one thing you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy meeting an ordinary person, who has an extraordinary story that pushes through adversity and remains positive.
Your #1 networking advise for those new to PR/Communications?
Always follow up. The Communications – PR/Media is a fast paced environment that can change by the minute, professionals get very busy. It works in your favor if you stay the course and follow up. There has been instances where I didn’t get a response until I followed up the second/third time.
Why did you pursue a career in PR/Marketing?
I’ve always been interested in Entertainment Industry. I knew I wanted to be a Publicist or a Marketing professional. I love representing people and brands, and look out for their best interest. My career took a turn when I was intern for the Telemundo Marketing Department. I ended up doing production in the middle of marketing and PR professionals.
Who inspires you? And why?
My children inspire me to be a better human being. I believe children learn by example. I try to find inspiration from multiple people, depending on the area I would like to grow.
Career – I look up to my current VP of Marketing, Fatima Goncalves. She is extraordinary leader who works hard, but always takes care of her team. She is always optimistic and leads from the front.
Spiritual – God:
I have daily conversations with him, beginning with gratitude for all my blessings. Forgiveness for my shortfalls.
Rosie Rivera (@rosierivera):
I had the pleasure of meeting Rosie at work and appreciate her openness of her trauma. I have also read her books and they have helped me heal and take control of my life.
Aymee de los Angeles (@aymeedelosangeles):
She is a Reiki Master who has taught me to meditate and trust my body’s energy.
Motivational – I’ve always been a fan of Les Brown (@thelesbrown). I do my best to read his books or at minimum listen to his motivation speeches on YouTube.
Fitness – Coach Cynthia Flores (@ufccynthia) from UFC Gym. She is more like a life coach who taught me to work out properly and be the bigger voice when I’m down.
